A Women's Voice is a dramatic program that of-

grew up programmed to marry, raise children and
be happy in a world where values and attitudes
have changed drastically in the last fifty years.

The dramatic program is presented by a cast of
three women. After the presentation the audience
will be asked to participate in an informal discus-
sion.

Our preview is being held to give program plan-
ners an opportunity to experience for themselves
the very innovative drama and to reserve future
performance dates for their organizations.

Jewish Association for Retarded
Club Is for Semi-Independent

A club for mentally re-
tarded adults who are al-
ready living, or are prepar-
ing to live in their own
apartments has been
created by the Jewish Asso-
ciation for Retarded Citi-
zens.
Some 20 clients are par-
ticipating in the "Semi-
Independent Apartment
Program" established by
the JARC with the assis-
tance of a grant from the
Jewish Community Found-
ation of United Jewish
Charities.
Participants in the pro-
gram are high-functioning
retarded adults who show
potential for independence,
but would be unable to
make the move without
support.
Under the direction of
JARC staff members
Sherri Alter and Robyn
Coleman, the apartment
program offers retarded
persons assistance in
strengthening skills,
placement in apartments
and supervision depend-
ing on individual
capabilities.
Ms. Alter said that the re-
cently formed club, which
meets twice a month, allows
the participants to meet,
socialize and arrange for
apartment roommates.
Such skills as basic
homemaking, personal
hygiene, money manage-
ment and use of leisure time
are taught during the prep-
aration phase.
Later, Ms. Alter said, par-
ticipants are assisted in
locating an apartment and
roommate, securing fur-
nishings and the actual
move.
Once he or she is in an
apartment, the retarded
adult is supervised in
such areas as budgeting,
shopping, homemaking,
