The adult choir of Temple
Emanu-El will present Ar-
thur. Honegger's "King
David" at Shabat services
8:15 p.m. May 23 at the
temple. "Kind David" is an
oratorio based on a drama
by Rene Morax.
The Temple Emanu-El
Choir is directed by Cantor
Norman Rose. The choir
will be accompanied by
Marjorie Grulich at the
organ and by Blodwyn
Stephenson at the piano.
The program will be dedi-
cated to Mrs. Grulich, who
has served as the congrega-
tion's organist for 25 years.
The public is invited. Ad-
mission if free.

unanimously elected to the
national executive council
of the Cantors Assembly the
governing body of the
world's largest cantorial
association.
Cantor Ackerman has
been an active member of
the assembly for more than
a quarter century, has ap-
peared as a soloist several
times at its national con-
ventions and has been a
fund raiser for its schol-
arship programs at the Can-
tors Institute of the Jewish
Theological Seminary of
America.
Israelis Jailed

raeli soldiers arrested last
weekend in connection with
a cache of weapons and exp-
losives found on the roof of
the Yeshivat Hakotel in the
