It's good to see activity
coming back like the origi-
nal Dubbs used to have .. .
and the return of so many
former customers ...
Hard-working owners who
take active parts in a res-
taurant operation deserve
this . . . and the waitresses
work hard, too, knowing
their bosses are pitching in.
Cleanliness is a byword
now at Green Ten Restau-
rant . . . with even the win-
dows kept clean . . . Orders
are put up fast and brought
to the table without much
waiting . . . If people haven't
been served or assisted, sta-
tion or not, the Green Ten
waitresses will help each
other out . . . a fine bit of
teamwork.
Biggest hit so far, other
than the cleanliness and
new dishes, is a revolving,
lighted and refrigerated
showcase . . . with desserts,
salads and fruits . . . Fresh
fruits are put up everyday
. . . and no salad stays over-
night to be served the next
day as in some restaurants.
The Greek salad and
Jewish-Greek , salad
(topped with hefty slices
of marinated herring) go
so fast a couple are al-
ways kept on the bottom
shelf of the case for quick
access.
There's experience all

AFTER TEN YEARS,
Bennett Terebelo, partner
with Ron Forman at the
Bread Basket Deli in Lin-
coln Center, is learning how
to shave again . . . Bennett
took off his beard . . . looks
good . . . and is finally get-
ting over the itching . .
Come to think of it, Bennett
and Ron now don't look like
the Smith Brothers.
FRAME IS UP for the
new Mexican and Irish res-
taurant . . . called Carlos

and Northwestern.
NEW OPERATORS of
the little 12-stool snack res-
taurant at Cushion 'n Cue
in Oak Park are Mr. and
Mrs. Food Experience .. .
Esther and Max Rubin .. .
Much of the food that isn't
made there by them will be
from Bloom Kosher Cater-
ing where Max has been a
stalwart for so many years.
TRULY A "SLEEPER"
when it comes to Italian-
American dining is Como's
on Woodward and Nine
Mile Rd. . . . When trying
out a new Italian dish,
Como's is one of the first
places I go . . . For
neighborhood dining
(people come from all over
also) at reasonable prices,
Como's is a standout.
Dinner there recently
was a first experience of
Chicken Picante . . . made
with slices of white breast of
chicken deliciously im-
mersed in lemon butter .. .
and topped with cooked
slices of lemon . . . It was so
good I know exactly what to
order next time I'm at
Como's.
