The Jewish Community
Center's Center Stage thea-

tions for its production of

Speaker for JNF Women Event
TV producer and former
news correspondent Robert
Evans will be the guest
speaker at the Women of
Jewish National Fund's
golden jubilee, fund-raising
culminating event noon
Jan. 8 at Cong. Shaarey
Zedek. Petite luncheon will
be served.
Evans lived in Moscow,
where, for many years he
was the CBS News TV and
radio correspondent and
bureau chief.
Evans reported on the
1956 Suez War, Hungarian
revolution and on the 1967
Middle East war. He cov-
ered the invasion of
Czechoslovakia years later.
He was the correspon-
dent covering the 50th
anniversary of the Rus-
sian Revolution and the
Arab leaders' visits to
Moscow.
He also covered the cap-
ture of the Pueblo and the
negotiations proceedings to
go to the Korean capital. He
covered the dissident trials
in Russia and was one of
four journalists turned
away by Soviet
ivirs. Joseph Markel, vice
