public committee compris-
ing veterans of the War for
Independence and 101st
Unit, the first Israeli Army
commando unit which car-
ried out raids against ter-
rorist bases across the bor-
der in the 1950s, has oeen
established to encourage
public alertness against
acts of terrorism.
Having received a large
sum of money from an
anonymous donor, th(-
committee is offering IL
50,000 for information lead-
ing to the arrest of a ter-
rorist and IL 10,000 for dis-
covering an explosive de-
vice. The awards, to be
given upon the recommen-
dation of the police, will be
paid to anyone regardless of
religion or nationality,

NYC Approves
Anti-Boycott Bill
NEW YORK (JTA) —
The Jewish Community Re-
lations Council (JCRC) of
New York, on behalf of its
26-member organizations,
congratulated the city
council of New York on the
passage by a vote of 36-0
Tuesday of an anti-Arab
boycott bill. The bill, in ef-
fect, prohibits the city from
business dealings with
companies or contractors
that participate in the Arab
boycott.

leadership and Councilman
Herbert Berman wlio intro-
duced the bill, along with

According to JCRC,
Tuesday's vote is the result
of efforts that began more
than one year ago. The
American Jewish Congress,
American Jewish Commit-
tee and the Jewish Ameri-
can Political Action Com-
mittee, together with other
member agencies of the
JCRC, provided advice and
assistance in bringing the
bill to fruition.

Zedek Medical Center, in
conjunction with Albert
Einstein College of
Medicine, will sponsor an
accredited symposium in Is-
rael on recent advances in
cancer immunology, endoc-
rinology, bacterial diseases,
and non-invasive technol-
ogy in November. Leading
experts in their respective
fields will address the vari-
ous sessions.
The symposium is offered
as part of the general celeb-
ration marking the dedica-
tion of the new Shaare
Zedek Medical Center in
