UHS Nursery Students Prepare Own Seder. Foods

imagery, the festival of
Pesach is a special celebra-
tion in the nursery school of
United Hebrew Schools,
housed at Temple Emanu-
El. The young students of
the school engage in a
number of activities to ex-
perience preparation for the
holiday.
Teachers Sylvia Handler
and Reva Klaymer, assisted
by Marlene Galperin, have
taught the children how to
bake matzot—hard like the
slave's bricks in Egypt — as
well as charoset, for which
the youngsters chop apples
and nuts mixed with wine
and cinnamon. Passover
sponge cake is also•made by
the students. All of these

land of Kharkov, Russia, is
seeking Naftali Grinberg
and his brothers, sisters and
their children last known to
be living in Detroit.
Fridland also is seeking
members of his aunt's fam-
ily. The aunt is named
Sura-Leya, and she died in
1936. No surname for her is
available.

Percy Kaplan, executive
director of the Jewish Na-
tional Fund in Greater De-
troit and Michigan, will be
honored at a dinner 6:30
p.m. May 10, at the Zionist
Cultural Center. The
dinner will celebrate Kap-
lan's 25 years of service to
JNF in this area.
The affair is sponsored by
the board of the JNF Coun-
cil of Greater Detroit, the
Women of JNF and the
Young Women of JNF.
Kaplan has been an
active proponent of Jewish
causes in Canada and in the
U.S.
