Foods n1:1 Rich with symbols and imagery, the festival of Pesach is a special celebra- tion in the nursery school of United Hebrew Schools, housed at Temple Emanu- El. The young students of the school engage in a number of activities to ex- perience preparation for the holiday. Teachers Sylvia Handler and Reva Klaymer, assisted by Marlene Galperin, have taught the children how to bake matzot—hard like the slave's bricks in Egypt — as well as charoset, for which the youngsters chop apples and nuts mixed with wine and cinnamon.
