attending the organiza-
tion's first national public
affairs seminar for its young
leadership group in
Washington.
Experts on Middle East
affairs, urban policy de-
velopment and the United
Nations addressed the
participants and then en-
gaged them in give-and-
take discussions.

Now Chartered

Bat Chayle Chapter has
been chartered as the
newest chapter of the Bnai
Brith Women's Council of
Metropolitan Detroit.
The chapter, whose name
means daughter of valor,
boasts a membership of 38.

U-M Hillel Will Present Kapustin Lecture

The Bnai Brith Hillel
Foundation at the Univer-
sity of Michigan will pre-
sent the annual Brunhild
Kapustin Memorial Lecture
8 p.m. Monday in the found-
ations's headquarters, 1429
Hill, Ann Arbor.
The lecture will be deli-
vered by Baruch Levine,
professor of Hebrew at New
York University. His topic
will be "Judaism and Its Bi-
blical Roots."
The lecture was estab-
lished in memory of
Brunhild Kapustin, wife of
the former Hillel director at
Wayne State University.

Junior Division
Seminar Slated

Junior Division of the
Jewish Welfare Federation
will hold an informal in-
volvement seminar for
young adults interested in
learning more about the di-
vision at 8 p.m. Wednesday
at the Whethersfield Apts.
club house in Birmingham.
Participants in the prog-
ram will describe some of
the activities of various di-
vision committees, as well
as the division's participa-
tion in the 1978 Allied
- Jewish Campaign-Israel
Emergency Fund. Past
president Robert Slatkin
will talk about the relation-
ship of Junior Division to
the Federation.
Division President Jef-
frey N. Bonin also will
participate. Chairman
for the seminar is Eric C.
Oppenheim, head of the
division's executive
committee.
Junior rDivision is the
year-round Federation or-
ganization for men and
women of post-college age
through their early 30s. For

The Hillel Foundation
will conduct an open
house 11:30 a.m. Sunday
at its headquarters. High
school juniors and
seniors and their parents
are invited to brunch,
presentations and a tour
of the campus.
The open house is part of
an outreach leadership de-
veloptnent program de-
veloped by Hillel under a
grant from the Jewish
Community Foundation.
The program involves meet-
ing with Jewish high school
juniors and seniors in vari-
ous Detroit area
synagogues and temples in
order to describe university
life in general, help sut-
dents gain a greater under-
standing and awareness of

introduce the participants
to various Jewish campus
activities and groups.
