"City of Peace" award.
Charles Milan, dinner
chairman, said Direnfeld has
been an active member of
Bnai Brith for more than 40
years. He was among the 10
original members of Harry
B. Keidan Lodge in 1944 and
served as the fourth presi-
dent. Hs is also a past pres-
ident of the Metropolitan De-
troit Bnai Brith Council.
On the district level, Di-
renfeld has served as chair-
man of several committees;
and has been an- Anti-Defa-
mation League national com-
missioner and member of the
national board of governors
for the past five years.

Volunteeers Sought
for Dystrophy March
Volunteers in Wayne, Oak-
land and Macomb counties
are being sought to conduct
a house-to-house solicitation
for muscular dystrophy 5-9
p.m. June 4.
The volunters, identified by
Jerry 'Lewis badges, will seek
funds to support medical re-
search and patient services
for all area muscular dystro-
phy victims presently under
the care of the Greater De-
troit - Southeastern Michigan
chapter of the Muscular
Dystrophy Associations of
America.
The local Muscular Dys-
trophy chapter, headed by
Mrs. Ira G. Kaufman, pro-
vides physical exams, lab
tests, therapists, social work-
ers, braces, wheelchairs, and
miscellaneous medical costs
to MD patients in the greater
Detroit area.
