nounced its future plans;
Geraldine Schwartz, who led
in the singing of the national
anthems; and Freda Mendel-
son, vocalist, accompanied
by Shelley Lakin.

Last Shabat, in honor of the Women's League for
Conservative Judaism, Bnai Moshe Sisterhood paid tribute
to the congregation's 10-year-old Judajca Museum and to
its founder and curator, Mrs. Rose Lehrman. Members of
the sisterhood commissioned Barbara Hess Mercier to paint
an oil portrait of •the rebbitzen for the museum. The latter
houses 250 art objects from Israel, Greece, Italy, England,
Spain and Mexico, even Soviet Georgia. Shown are, from
left, Rabbi Moses Lehrman, Mrs. Lehrman, Barbara Hess
Mercier and Mrs. Louis Redmond, sisterhood president.

Dr. Michael Kotik will dis-
cuss the complex adjustments
he had to make as a new
Soviet immigrant in Israel,
and his experiences during
the recent war, at the junior
division's women's cham-
pagne afternoon sponsored by
the Allied Jewish Campaign-
Israel Emergency Fund, 1
p.m. Sunday, at the Pointe-
0-Woods club house.
Kotik, 38, an engineer and
researcher, mov ed f r om
Russia to Israel with his wife
and infant son less than a
year ago. Russian authorities
waived the "ransom" for his
immigration following a show
of public demand from other
countries.
Born and educated in
Russia, Kotik attended the
Polygraphic Institute, depart-
ment of technology, and also
did post-graduate work there.
In 1970 he received his candi-
dates degree in technology,
the Russian equivalent of a
PhD.
In Israel, Dr. Kotik and his
family learned Hebrew in an
absorption center.
