Fitness Lecture
Open to Community
A lecture on physical fit-
ness and prevention of car-
diac ailment will be spon-
sored by the Jewish Center
8:30 p.m. Jan. 29.
This audio-visual lecture,
conducted by Troy cardiolo-
gist Dr. Joseph Arends, is
open to the community.
Dr. Arends will cover such
subjects like proper exercise
programs for men in their
40s, 50s and 60s; postcardiac
exercise; and his specialty:
stress-testing — what it is,
why it is needed and how it
is done. The talk will be ac-
companied by slides.
Dr. Arends received his
MD degree at Wayne State
University, interned at De-
troit General Hospital and
did post graduate training at
the Naval Aerospace Medical
Institute in Florida and the
Naval Air Station in Texas.
