JERUSALEM (JTA) — Finance
Minister Pinhas Sapir predicted
salaries
that real wages and
would rise by 8 per cent next year.
He told newsmen that 3 per cent
of the rise would be attributable
to tax cuts.
Sapir said he would decide in
October whether to impose the
added value tax the treasury has
been planning. If the decision is

taken, the tax-will become effec-
tive with the beginning of the next

fiscal year, he said.
