When Rabbi Weine is honored
at a dinner Sunday at the syna-
gogue. Mrs. Weine also will be
cited for her work as a librarian
in the Jewish field. She organized
the Jewish Library Association of 1 ,
Greater Philadelphia and was its
president; served as president of
the Association of Jewish Libra- ,
ries, a national organization; and
is author of the Weine Classifica-
tion Scheme for Jewish libraries.
Upon the Weines' retirement,
the Beth Israel library, where
Mrs. Weine has been librarian for
more than 18 years, has been
renamed for her.
The Camden Jewish Community
Voice, in an editorial, described
Rabbi Weine as ''a man who has
always placed service to his peo-
ple above material things for him-
self." His colleagues, said the ed-
itorial, consider him "as the one
who most completely exemplifies
the role of the rabbi in Jewish
life."

the Yom Ha'Atzmaut celebration
of the local Mizrachi Religious
Zionists of America conducted
jointly with the Young Israel
branches here.
The occasion was utilized to
memorialize the fallen Israeli Za-

Rabbi Joshua Sperka, after the
reading of a Psalm by Zvi Tom-
kiewicz.
The occasion followed a festive
dinner, at which Bnei Akiva
youth leaders Chaim Hopman and
Mark Goldenberg, provided a
musical program.

• presided, delivered the sermon of
the evening.

in unison after Minha and Maariv
services were conducted by Rabbi
Gershon Frankel and David Green-
baum, with Rabbi Samuel H.
