Returning to Chicago, Rappa-
port married Evelyn Sokol in
1925. lie studied the electrical
trade and in 1943 came to De-
troit, where be immediately be-
came active in the Arlazaroff
Branch 137 of Farband.

Now serving as president of
Arlazaroff. Rappaport has been on
its executive hoard for over 15
years. Ile is the chairman of the
house committee of the Labor
Zionist Institute and has had a
key role in the building of the
Labor Zionist Institute. He headed
the JNF project for planting 1.000
trees, is a leader in the Histadrut
campaign and is active in the
Allied Jewish Ca.rign. Rappa-
port has been a leader m the Israel
Bond drive since its initiation.

Rappaport engaged in electrical
contracting until 1952, when he
was appointed an electrical safety
inspector in Royal Oak. lie has
served two terms as president of
the Reciprocal Electrical Council.
Ile is now an electrical consultant
and is active in tutoring students
in the electricians trade.
The Rappaports have two chil-
dren. a son, Elliott, who is an
electrical engineer for the Produc-
tivity_Control Agency of the Israel
2n-Cernment, and a daughter, Mrs.
Samuel (Bernice) Boocker. whose
husband is a teacher at Oak Park
High School. The Rappaports have
seven grandchildren.
