selected as co-chairmen for the
American Society for Technion's
14th annual Conference on Science
and Technology this weekend, at
Northland Inn.
Walker L. Cisler, chairman of
the board of the Detroit Edison
Co. and world leader in the de-
velopment of atomic energy; and
Peter Altman, aeronautical expert

as co-chairmen for the opening
conference session, "New Trans-
portation Developments and Their
Role in Israel," 2 p m. Saturday.

Joseph N. Epel, president of Dura-
lastic Products Co., are co-chair-
men for the Sunday morning con-
ference, "Technology and the
Market Place "
The annual conference empha-
sizes the Technion Society's com-
mitment to technological, educa-
tional and scientific research. Over
the years, the conference has en-
abled the society to bring together
distinguished scientists, industrial-
ists, educators and lay leaders for
an annual discussion of develop-
ments in their related fields.

as Cincinnati Wins
Racquetball Title

Twenty-five racquetball players,
representing Jewish centers from
Canton and Cincinnati, 0., Louis-
ville, Chicago, Minneapolis and
Detroit competed in the first an-
nual Midwest Section Jewish Wel-
fare Board Racquetball Tourna-
ment here last weekend. The Cin-
cinnati JCC won.
In the championship singles
game, Rod McKinley, of Cincin-
nati, proved too strong for Tom
Kutas, also of Cincinnati.
In the doubles tournament,
Kutas and Robin Abrams, of Cin-
cinnati, defeated Al Hyman and
Ike Gumer of Louisville JCC for
the championship.
The Detroit team, represented
by Marty Deutch, Phil Reznik,
Mike Shaw, Jerry Miller, Mur-
ray Hozman, Gary Beam and
Larry Gordon, were eliminated
by the quarter final round.
The tournament was sponsored
by the athletic committee of the
JCC Men's Health Club. Max
Thomas and Jack Reznick were
the tournament co-chairmen.
Robert Basch, Jewish Center

rector, coordinated the tourna-
ment. He was assisted by Ron
Davis, assistant health and physi-
cal education director.
