Abramov Blames Two Ambulances Donated to Israel's
USSR for Ferment Red Cross by Michigan Families
Addressing the Zionist Organiza-
tion of Detroit, at the Zionist
Cultural Center, Sept. 10, S. Z.
Abramov, member of the Israel
Kneiset, declared that the ferment
created by the Soviet Union is pri-
marily responsible for the Middle
East turmoil.
Commenting on the current state
of terror created by Idjaeldng of
planes, Abramov said that the
trouble stemmed from terrorism
which is apparently the only means
used by a small band of Ara*
who, if they wish to conduct a
war, should meet Israelis on the
battlefield. "That," he said, "they
seem to fear."
Progress in arrangements for
the annual Balfour Concert, to be
held Nov. 22, with Richard Tucker
as guest artist, was reported by
the chairman, Dr. Jack Greenberg.
Walter Nussbaum, chairman of
the program committee of ZOD,
introduced Abramov and conducted
a lengthy question-answer period.
The ZOD president, Dr. Joel Ham-
burger, presided.
