Drug Abuse Control
Bill by Rep. Kramer

State Representative Albert A.
Kramer announces that he has
introduced a new proposal calling
for the establishment of a state
coordinator for drug abuse within
the department of education. The
thrust of the office would be to
develop courses for correcting and
controlling drug abuse and to co-
ordinate and encourage programs
for its control.
The coordinator would work
hand in glove with local units in
the formation of their plans.

Concern to President

Lawrence Schultz, Democratic
candidate for Congress, has ex-
pressed grave concern over the
deteriorating situation in the Mid-
dle East in a communication with
President Nixon.
Schultz told the President that
the actions of the Soviet Union
in rearming the Arab countries
with sophisticated weaponry such
as the SAM missiles was a metter
of grave concern to both him and
others concerned with the fate of
Israel. Schultz stated that the
balance of power could easily be
changed unless the President sup-
plied Israel with the requested
jets.
Schultz also has stated that he
will commlonicate with Senate
leaders to see if they can increase
pressure on the President.
