Mrs. Bernard Schaenen, national
chairman of the women's division
of the United Jewish Appeal, will
speak at the women's pre-cam-
paign meeting of the 1969 Allied
Jewish Campaign - Israel Emer-
gency Fund on Jan. 8, at a lunch-

chairman, has announced.
Mrs. Schaenen of, Dallas, Tex.,
succeeds Mrs. Harry L. Jones of
I Detroit in the national position as
head of the UJA Women's Divi-
sion. She was the first woman to
head a general Jewish community
fund-raising campaign when she
was chairman of the Dallas Jewish
Welfare Federation. The Federa-
tion named her "Mrs. Federation"
in 1966.
Mrs. Max Stollman is chairman
of the women's division campaign
for 1969.
Mrs. Benjamin Jones, a former
president of the women's division,
is adviser of women's pre-cam-
paign with Mrs. Hyman Safran as
executive secretary. Vice-chair-
men are Mesdames Louis Berry,
Alfred L. Deutsch, William L.
Deutsch, Samuel P. Frankel and
David J. Pollack. Mrs. Lewis
Daniels is consultant.
The luncheon is for women who
Contribute $500 or more to the
Allied Jewish Campaign - Israel
Emergency Fund.

SHAAREY ZEDEK SISTER-
HOOD will hold its annual paid-up
membership luncheon noon Jan. 13
in the social hall. The theme of
the day, "Wish You Were Here-
in Israel," will feature Goldie Ad-
ler and the Sisterhood Kalla Group,
who have recently returned from
travels in Israel. All paid-up mem-

Luncheon arrangements are in the
hands of Mrs. Jay Rosenthal, so-

Harvith. Mrs. Marvin Fleisch-
man is sisterhood president.
The sisterhood's Town Hall
Series will continue with Gerald
Green, author of "The Last Angry
Man" and more currently "To
Brooklyn With Love," 10 a.m.
Wednesday in the social hall.
Green, producer of NBC television
news, will compare the novels and
novelists of the 1930s with those
of the '60s, according to chairman
Mrs. David Kliger. Continental
breakfast will precede the talk.

Goldie Adler Talk
of Recent Israel Trip

Mrs. Morris Adler will appear
as guest speaker at the annual
donor of the Women's Auxiliary of
Jewish National Fund, noon, Jan.
21 at Temple Israel.
Mrs. Adler has just returned
from an extensive trip to Israel,
where she vis-
ited various JNF
developments,
among which
were Gadot and
Mishmar Hayar-
den, the area in
which the "Pil-
lars of Courage,"
the project of the
auxiliary is sit-
uated. Gadot, at
the foot of the
Golan Heights, is
where the Mor-
ris Adler School
is located.

musical program with guest art-
