Mr. Kohn leaves his wife, Bessie;
two sons, Theodore J. and Martin;
a daughter, Mrs. Nathan (Tillie)
Steinberg; a sister, Mrs. Sarah
Cowan; and six grandchildren.
Henry Friedgood, 74;

Henry I. Friedgood, a member
of the Shaarey Zedek Choral Group
and Pisgah Lodge Bnai Brith, died
Jan. 26 at age 74.
Mr. Friedgood, 15234 Northgate,
Oak Park, was retired for the past
10 years from the retail men's
furnishings business. Born in Is-
rael, he lived in Detroit for 46
years.
Survivors are his wife, Eva; a
son, Dr. Charles of New York; a
daughter, Mrs. Alvin (Shirley) Le-
zell; two sisters in Israel; and 10
grandchildren.

field, followed his brother Max in
death by less than a year. His sons,
Julius and Harry, continue in the
business, among whose projects
have been the Sharon Meadows sub-
division in Southfield and the
Merri-Five shopping center in Li-
vonia.

Synagogue, Mr. Spoon was a board
member of its Northwest Hebrew
Memorial Park, where he is being,
buried today. Services were sched-
uled for 11:30 this morning at Ira
Kaufman Chapel.
Mr. Spoon also was a board
member of City of Hope, United
Hebrew Schools and Jewish Theo-
logical Seminary. He belonged
to the Zionist Organization of
America, Pisgah Lodge of Bnai
Brith, the Mo'os Hitim Committee
and Town and Country Club. He
was born in Russia.
Besides his sons, Mr. S p o o n
leaves his wife, Julia; a daughter,
Mrs. Morrey (Shirley) Barak; a
sister, Mrs. Esther Cohen; 10 grand-
children and one great-grandchild.

months ago, after
serving uninter-
ruptedly in all
governments,
since the rebirth
of Israel in 1948. Shitreet
Born in Tiberias, of a Moroccan
family, Mr. Shitreet began his ca-
reer as a police inspector in his
native city. He rose to assistant
superintendent under the British
regime, the highest rank a Pales-
tine native could then attain.
In 1935, he became a magistrate,
and rose to chief magistrate when
the British mandate over Palestine
ended in 1948.

Irving Arlin, 4857 Motorway,
Pontiac, died Saturday morning in
Santa Ana,, Calif., while visiting his
daughter and her family. Funeral
services were held in California.
