Dr. Eugene Roberts, chairman of
the department of biochemistry at
the City of Hope Medical Center
in California, was presented with
the Distinguished Service Award
of the Wayne State University
School of Medicine at the school's
convocation Thursday.
A Wayne State University alum-
nus, Dr. Roberts shared the stage
with Dr. Albert Segaloff, profes-
or of clinical medicine at Tulane

award for his outstanding achieve-
ment.
Dr. Roberts was honored "as
one of the world's outstanding
neuroehemists" and cited for his
work in biochemistry of brain
development.
An internationally known en-
docrinologist, Dr. Segaloff, also a
WSU alumnus, was hailed as "one
of those few men who are sound
in the laboratory and gifted in the
clinic."
Dr. Roberts was the honored
guest at a meeting of the Detroit
Business Men's Group of the City
of Hope and told them of the ad-
vance being made to conquer many
