JNF Women Will Mark

Oka-Doner Wedding
to Be Held in Florida

Completion

of Gadot Project on Israel Border

The Women's Auxiliary of the
Jewish National Fund will com-
plete the redemption of the Israel
settlement. of Gadot on the Syrian-
Jordan border at its donor event
12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Temple
Israel. This settlement is unique
in that it has an underground
nursery school and classrooms for
older children, as well as an
underground dispensary.
The Auxiliary is erecting a me-
morial pillar, the "pillar of Cour-
age" on which will be inscribed all
donors of $300 and more who con-
tribute to this three-year-old proj-
ect.

$100 will be inscribed in a. Gadot
Golden Book, which will be part
of the permanent archives of the
settlement.

Guest speaker at the dessert
luncheon will be Mrs. Judith
Beilin, consul of Israel in New
York. Mrs. Beilin, a former ac-
tress on the English stage and on
BBC, went to Israel as a bride.

Flint Jewish Community Council
Presents Awards to UJA Leaders

At the annual meeting of the
Flint Jewish Community Council
Thursday evening at Temple Beth
El, Louis Kasle, chairman, pre-
sented awards for outstanding
service to the leaders of the 1965
United Jewish Appeal of Flint.
These awards went to Jack Shap-
row, general chairman; and to Mrs.
Philip Agree, Mrs. Henry Livings-
ton and Mrs. Joe Weinstein, co-
chairmen of the Women's Division.

Also receiving awards were
men's division chairmen Louis
Kasle, Joe Megdell, Lawrence
Covitz, Dr. Milton Rosenbaum,
Joe Bean, Harry Binder, Dr. Ira
Marder, Michael Pelavin, Jacob
Pines and Israel Sendler. Special
awards were presented to Harry
Binder, recipient of the council's
Young Leadership Award; Dr.
Evelyn Golden, for her outstand-
ing service to the senior citizens
group; and Gilbert Y. Ruben-
stein, outgoing president.
