THE WOMAN'S AUXILIARY,
UNITED HEBREW SCHOOLS,
will hold its annual paid-up mem-
bership meeting and petite lunch-
eon noon Wednesday at the Esther
Berman Building. The program,
"Stories Unlimited," will be pre-
sented by Mrs. Harry Oberstein,
program vice president, and Mrs.
Lawrence Wernher, Temple Israel
librarian. Mrs. Lewis G. Hyams,
membership vice president, states
that new members will be honored
at this meeting. Dues may be paid
at this time. Mesdames Sam Stew-
art, Joseph Ruby and Joe Horwitz
have assumed the responsibility
of special table decorations. Mrs.
Isadore Goren, president of the
auxiliary, will announce formation
of a new scholarship fund. In
memory of his late wife, Bessie
Cohen, Mr. Herman Cohen has
established the Bessie Cohen
Teacher Training Scholarship
Fund. Mrs. Cohen was a very ac-
tive member of the auxiliary and
many other communal organiza-
tions. The luncheon will be pre-
pared by Mrs. Lawrence Gold-
berg, social chairman and her
committee. Welcoming members
will be Mrs. Milton Winston, hos-
pitality chairman, and her com-
mittee.

DETROIT CANCER FIGHTERS,
City of Hope, will meet 8:30 p.m.
Monday at Rosenberg's Holiday
Catering. Under the direction of
Program Vice President Mrs. Law-
rence Benderoff, a program has
been planned for members, hus-
bands and friends. Lee Shulman,
consulting phychologist, will speak
on "Rational Living in an Irra-
tional World." A brief business
session will precede the program.
Mrse. Elliot Schubiner will pre-
side. Refreshments will be served.

Club activities
SHERUTH LEAGUE members
are invited to the President's
Luncheon, given by Mrs. Samuel
Winer in honor of all women who
worked for the success of Sheruth
League's projects, 12:15 p.m. Tues-
day at Sholem Aleichem Institute.
A Victory Luncheon will be given
in February to honor the donor
luncheon chairman and her com-
mittee, plus all members who
raised over $300. Program Chair-
man Mrs. Marvin Canner, has
planned a fashion show direct from
the New York showings. Fashion
coordinator Ann Rubinstein will
have Sheruth League members as
her models. The final mortgage
payment on the League's -Sheruth
House was made with funds raised
at its recent donor luncheon. Mem-
bers now will be working on the
fresh air society's new pilot pro-
ject, camping for emotionally dis-
turbed youngsters.

ease, installed as president, Mrs.

bach. Chairmen appointed by the
president are Mesdames Sanford
Hirshfield, Israel Levenstein and
Arthur Sofferin. A victory dinner
for members and their escorts will
be held at Livonia Penthouse Sun-

Women of the pacesetters and
headliners divisions of the 1966
Allied Jewish Campaign Women's
Division, will meet next week to
launch their fund-raising efforts.
Mrs. Melvin Kolbert is chairman
of the pacesetters, and Mrs. Mil-
ton J. Doner is headliners chair-
man.
Pacesetters will convene noon
Wednesday at the home of Mrs.
Milton J. Miller to hear Mrs.
Burt J. Siris, vice chairman
of the national women's division
board of the United Jewish Ap-
peal.
Mrs. Siris, now chairman of the
advisory board of the Women's
Division of Greater New York
UJA, was formerly its campaign
chairman. She will address two
meetings of the women's headlin-
ers on Thursday. Mrs. Irving Rose
will be hostess at her home on
Strathcona for the 10 a.m. meeting.
Mrs. Theodore Birnkrant will open
her home to the headliners for a
12:30 luncheon. Headliners may
elect to attend either meeting.
NEGBAH CHAPTER, Pioneer
Women, will hold a social meeting
12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Labor
Zionist Institute. Current events
will be featured, and refreshments
will be served by hostesses Mrs.
Alfred Hoffer and Mrs. Alfred
Saslove.

Donor Lunch
Adas Shalom Sisterhood has
scheduled its annual donor lunch-
eon for noon Feb. 9 in the syna-
gogue social hall. Mrs. Nat Gold-
stone, donor chairman, said the
guest artist will be Hilde Marx of
New York, who will present her
one-woman show.
Plans for the affair also include
presentation of pins to ticket pur-
chasers of Chai ($18) and over;
and awarding of three grand prizes.

chairman, Mrs. Norman Leemon;
vice chairmen, Mesdames George
Fleisher, Arthur Schultz and David
