WASHINGTON (JTA)—The Na-
tional Aeronautics and Space Ad-
ministration conferred its "Excep-
tional Service Award" on I. Edward
Garrick. of Hampton. Va., chief of
the dynamic loads division of the
Langley Research Center.
Garrick, a charter member of the
Jewish Community Center of New-
port News, Va., received the award
for "sustained outstanding contri-
butions" to the aeronautical and
space sciences during 34 years of
research in the two fields.
The citation lauded his "excep-
tional ability to provide an aca-
demic environment and scholarly
leadership, resulting in noteworthy
contributions in man y fields of
aerospace technology."
WASHINGTON (JTA)—The
Soviet Embassy here was picketed
by a delegation of Jews from the
Greater Philadelphia area, in pro-
test against Soviet anti-Semitism.
