Oak Park, was actually a surprise
party for Jennie . . . Larry knew
all about it, gave it in fact, but
Jennie almost keeled over with
shock when she walked into a
bello of "SURPRISE!" . . . A lot
of guests didn't realize it until
the big moment, but they too were
"taken in." . . . Couldn't imagine
why Larry wasn't surprised also!

To Test Lubrication Oils Being Produced in Israel

HAIFA — All locally produced
lubrication oils will have to un-
dergo standard tests at the Chemi-
cal Testing Laboratory of the Tech-
nion Research and Development
Foundation. An agreement to this
effect has just been signed between
the Israel Petroleum Institute, the
ministry of finance and the founda-
tion. The Ministry of Finance al-

located 40,000 Isareli pounds for
the purchase of the needed testing
equipment.
Inferior lubrication oil brings
about corrosion and shortens the
life of motors, and therefore the
maintenance of continuous inspec-
tion of such oils is of utmost im-
portance. The special testing equip-
ment is imported from England.

BRUSSELS (JTA) — Belgian
Premier Theo Lefevre was asked
to have his government intervene
with the Soviet authorities and
bring the plight of Russian Jewry
to the attention of the appropri-
ate international bodies.
The request was voiced by a
delegation of Belgian Jewish lead-
ers who participated in a confer-
ence on the situation of the Jews
in the Soviet Union. The delega-
tion was led by Max Gottschalk,
president of the conference, and
included Paul Philippson, presi-
dent of the Central Jewish Con-
sistory, as well as Chief Rabbi
Robert Dreyfuss.
The text of the conference reso-
lution urging Belgian intervention
on behalf of Soviet Jews was
presented to Premier Lefevre,
who promised that he would for-
ward it to his government at a
meeting of the council of min-
isters.
