Primrose Benevolent Club Plans
for 28th Annual Donor Luncheon

The Criterion Club will hold
its Masquerade Ball 8:30 p.m.
Sunday at the Jewish Music Cen-
ter, 14868 Schaefer, announced
Mollye K. Wilson, program chair-
man.
A total of 15 prizes will be
awarded for the gayest costumes,

outstandi n g
costumes in
other individu-
al categories.
Sam Barnett
and his orches-
tra will pro-
vide the music
for the eve-
Angel ring's dancing,
with refreshments to be served
by club hostesses and entertain-
ment headed by TV and record-
ing artist Jimmy Angel.
Wearing of half-masks are en-
couraged for the occasion, Miss
Wilson said, although costumes
will be optional.
Newest social organization in
Detroit for single adults, the Cri-
terion Club invites the commun-
ity to attend.

Detroit Businessmen,
City of Hope, Plans
Medical Center Benefit

The Detroit Businessmen's
Group of the City of Hope is
making plans to celebrate its
50th anniversary with a cham-
pagne dinner-dance Nov. 25 at
the Sheraton-Cadillac Hotel, an-
nounces President Harold Koz-
loff.
Entertainment chairmen for
the event are Morris Sukenic,
Al Kushner and Harry Gold-
berg.
Proceeds from the affair will
go to the free, non-sectarian
medical center in Duarte, Calif.
The institution is comprised of
a 200-bed hospital and a re-
search center devoted to the
treatment and conquest of can-
cer and allied malignancies, in-
cluding blood, chest and heart
afflictions.
New clues to the cause and
care of diseases are being un-
covered with more than 100
projects underway in the fields
of biochemistry, cystology, gen-
etics, medicine, microbiology,
pathology and surgery.

Kvutzah Ivrith Will Hold Election Meeting

The annual election meeting
of the Kvutzah Ivrith (Hebrew
Culture Society) will be held
9 p.m. Saturday at the Jewish
Center.
Reports on activities of the
past year will be given by Presi-
dent Joseph Katz, Morris Nobel,
culture committee chairman,
Irving Palman, treasurer; Mi-
chael Michlen, financial secre-
tary and chairman of the com-
mittee for distribution of He-
brew books; and Aaron Toback,
co-editor of "Hed Ha-Kvutzah."
Other reports will be given
by Norman Ruttenberg, secre-
tary; Morris Plafken, publicity;
Israel Elpern and Wolf Snider,
public relations; and D. Oren-
stein, special youth programs.
