will hold a membership party
Nov. 20 at Temple Israel, under
the direction of Mrs. Harold
Hoffman, vice-president of prO-
gram, and Mrs. Jack W. Perl-
man, chairman of the day.
The event will feature 30
high-styled creations by teenage
students in the fashion depart-
ment of Hadassah's Alice Seligs-
berg High School for Girls in
Jerusalem.
Also to be displayed are sev-
eral garments made by two Is-
raeli firms—Maskit and Aled.

sary year this weekend. Officers

conduct Shemini Atzeres festi-
val services Saturday morning,

Cantor Shabtai Ackerman offi-
ciating, along with the Syna-
gogue Choir under. the direc-
tion of Israel Fuchs. Dr. Robert
Schlaff will read the Torah as
Baal Kriyah. Meyer Lullove, in-
cumbent president, will be hon-
ored with Maftir. Judge Nathan
J. Kaufman will deliver the ser-
mon. The Men's Club will host
an anniversary kiddush in the
Nusbaum Hall following the
service. The Bar Mitzvah anni-
versary banquet will be held 7
p.m. Sunday at the synagogue.
An orchestra will provide music
for dinner and dancing. Marty
Mitchell will be master of cere-
monies. General chairman of the

sation Group will begin its reg-
ular Saturday afternoon meet-
ing on Oct. 28, it was announced
by Charles H. Gershenson, the
president of the Jewish Center.
The sessions, which are held
from 3 to 5 p.m., will be con-
ducted by native Israeli leaders.
The program is cooperatively
sponsored by the Jewish Center
and the Israeli Students Organi-
zation of Wayne State Univer-
sity. It is open to the general
public without charge. The
group is divided into sections
according to language skills,
from beginners to advanced.
The sessions are designed to
provide practice in the oral
use of modern Israeli Hebrew.
