services other than those listed
for confirmands, consecrants
and 12th grade graduates on
the pages devoted as an annual
service to our readers which
appears in this edition on pages
20-21:
Temple Emanu-El will hold
its service for 12 Hebrew School
graduates 8:15 p.m. today in
the Temple.
Cong. Beth Aaron Religious
School will hold exercises for
30 eighth grade graduates 10
a.m. Sunday at the synagogue.
Temple Israel Hebrew School
will hold closing exercises 10:30
a.m. Saturday at the Temple.
Adas Shalom Religious School
will hold services for 48 Junior
Division graduates 10 a.m. Sun-
day at the synagogue.

Beth Shalom PTO
Holds Family Picnic

It

The Cong. Beth Shalom Par-
ent-Teacher Organization an-
nual family picnic will be held
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the
Pontiac Lake Recreation Area,
announced Mrs. Robert White,
chairman.
Swimming and other sports,
refreshments and cooking fa-
cilities will be featured. Sun-
day School teachers will super-
vise the games. Report cards
will be distributed.

Hall, when David Goldberg will
be honored at a testimonial
dinner sponsored by the Detroit
Friends of Yeshiva University,
will be a dual celebration —
Goldberg's 60th birthday and
the university's 75th anniver-
sary.
Alumni of Yeshiva Univer-
sity have played prominent
roles in the spiritual, intellec-
tual and educational life of the
Detroit area for many years.
Rabbis trained at the university
have served as leaders of De-
troit congregations, and profes-
sional men, educated there,
have contributed to the city's
growth and development.
Edward C. Levy has been
named general chairman of the
dinner.
John E. Lurie is dinner chair-
man.
Abraham Borman is chair-
man of the Detroit Friends of
Yeshiva University, Daniel A.
Laven is treasurer, and Nathan
I. Goldin, secretary.
Proceeds of the dinner will
be allocated for the mainte-
nance of the university's activi-
ties, including an annual mil-
lion dollar program of scholar-
; ship assistance to gifted stu-
dents of limited financial
means.
Yeshiva University alumni
residing in Detroit include Dr.
Jacob E. Goldman, of Oak Park,
assistant director, Science La-
boratories. Ford Motor Co.;
Rabbi Hayim Donin, Congrega-
tion Bnai David; Rabbi Stanley
Greenberg, of the Jewish Com-
munity Council staff; Rabbi Hy-
man Agress, Evergreen Jewish
Congregation; Rabbi Morris Ad-
ler, Congregation Shaarey Ze-
dek; Rabbi Samuel S. Stollman,

At Yeshiva College. the uni-
versity's undergraduate school
of liberal arts and sciences for

Jewish War Vets
to Hold Memorial
Day Services

The Department of Michigan,
Jewish War Veterans, will hold
its Annual Memorial Day Serv-
ice 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mach-
pelah Cemetery.
Jack Schwartz. Department
commander. and Esther Feld.
Department president. will lead
the contingent and Rabbi Israel
Halpern of Cong. Beth Abraham
will officiate.
At 2 p.m.. the Jewish War
Veterans will join with other
veteran organizations in the
Memorial Day Parade.

Bnai Moshe Holds
Memorial Services

Cong. Bnai Moshe will honor
the nation's war dead with patri-
otic exercises noon Wednesday,
Memorial Day, at Oakview Ceme-
tery, Royal Oak, jointly with the
Bloch-Rose Post, Jewish War Vet-
erans.
Rabbi Mores Lehrman will
deliver the address and Cantor
Louis Klein will chant appro-
priate prayers. Others partici-
pating will be Sam Skupsky,
Commander of the Post. and
Norbert Reinstein. B'nai Moshe
president.

Temples Hold Joint
Memorial Service

The annual memorial service
of Temple Beth El, Temple Is-
rael and Temple Emanu-EI will
be held at Beth El Memorial
Park 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Rabbi M. Robert Syme will
speak on "Eternal Love." Rabbi
Leon Fram, Rabbi Harold D.
Hahn. Dr. Richard C. Hertz and
Rabbi Milton Rosenbaum will
participate in the service. The
choirs of Temple Beth El and
Temple Israel will render the
musical portion of the service.

Other area students enrolled
at Yeshiva College are Ralph
Cheifetz, 504 Hull, and Irving
M. Cohen, 1282 Victoria, both
in Windsor.
At Stern College for Women,
the Detroit student is Sherill N.

at Stern College: Marilyn Car-
man, 23551 Wildwood, Oak
Park, an education major; Pearl
Portnoy, 4253 Leslie, who is
majoring in English; and Chana
Prero, 17357 Ohio, a biology
major.
