MONTEVIDEO, (JTA) — A
call for a world-wide congress
of all General Zionists, with the
participation of the Liberal
Party of Israel, for purposes of
unification, was issued by the
presidium of the Latin American
Confederation of General Zionists
affiliated with the group headed
by Dr. Emanuel Neumann.
A statement issued by the pre-
sidium declared:
"We reiterate that there exists
no ideological basis which could
justify separation in the ranks of
General Zionists. This separation
causes weakening of activity and
influences the achievement of
our important tasks negatively.
Therefore, the presidium asks
full compliance with former reso-
lutions tending toward the unifi-
cation of General Zionist forces
soon. Unification should base it-
self on full identification with the
Liberal Party of Israel.
"Considering that regrettably,
until now, unification has not
been realized, the presidium re-
quests that a world congress be
held, with the participation of
the Liberal Party of Israel, and
that all General Zionist organi-
zations in the world, which wish
sincere and unconditional unity,
participate."
