Nurses Score in
Communal Service

JOYCE BUSSELL (left)

young women whose interest
in communal affairs as high
school students motivated
them to education for service.
The two young ladies, grad-
uates of the Shapero School
of Nursing this March, are
now serving patients at Sinai
Hospital as practical nurses.
Miss Lankin, a Mumford grad-
uate, was active in Bnai Brith,
and Miss Bussell, a Central
graduate, participated in the
camping program of the Jew-
ish Community Center.

New Center Summer
Membership Rates

The Jewish Center, 18100
Meyers, announces a new special
summer membership rate for
Young Adults, ages 19-24, of
$12, and Adults, 25-up, of $20,
effective for three months,
through Sept. 15.
The summer membership rate
includes all privileges of Cen-
ter membership, and those reg-
istering under the summer
plan will be able to convert to
regular membership by paying
the balance of a regular year's
membership, through the end
of September.

Labor Zionist Branch 11
to Elect New Officers

Daniel Yosef Branch 11 of
the Labor. Zionist Organization
will elect new officers at a
meeting called for 9 p.m., Sat-
uraay, in the home of the Bob
Liebmans, 14601 Bishop, Oak
Park.
Phyllis Pincus, past president
of the branch, is chairman of
the nominating committee. Fol-
lowing the election, there will
be a showing of the film, "Wil-
derness of Zin." Refreshments
will be served.

Perlstein Elected
to Council Board

Norman Perlstein, Midwest
Regional director of the Ameri-
can Jewish Congress, was this
week elected to the executive
board of the Detroit Council on
Human Relations.
The group, which consists of
over 50 community organiza-
tions, cooperates in all efforts
to combat the spread of dis-
crimination and prejudice.
Perlstein was chairman of the
r e c e n t l y concluded 1959-60
