Irving S. Cane, commander of
the Department of Michigan,
Jewish War Veterans this week
announced the appointment of
Irving Feldman as chairman of
the Department's . 1959 fund-
raising effort.
The drive for funds will cul-
minate in a dance, to be held
Dec. 5, in the new Jewish Com-
munity Center. Mrs. Albert
Rosen has
been named
co - chairman
for the Ladies
Auxiliary.
A number of
prizes will be
awarded, in-
cluding prizes
of a new, 1960
automobile;
and 10-day, all-

expense vaca-
tion for two at the Carillon Ho-
tel in Miami Beach.
Dancing will begin at 9 p.m.
to the music of Sammy Woolf
and his orchestra. Proceeds will
support various veterans and re-
habilitation projects, child wel-
fare and aid to Israel programs.

Detroiters have until Nov. 20
to mail Hanukah parcels, cards
and letters to members of the
armed forces overseas, it was
announced this week by Post-
master Edward L. Baker.
•The Postmaster explained
that the ruling includes per-
sonnel of the armed forces,
members of their families and
authorized U.S. civilians em-
ployed overseas who receive
mail through an APO number_
Size and weight limitations,
methods of packaging, customs
regulations (applicable to cer-
tain APO's and NPO's), pro-
hibitive articles and rates all
should be checked with the
Post Office.
