Weds Ex-Detroiter
in Miami Ceremony
MRS. HARVY S. HUBAR
A blue and white theme was
the setting for the Jan. 4 wed-
ding of Linda Sharpe and Harvy
Sanford Hubar in the Rosewood
Room of the Fontainebleau
Hotel, in Miami Beach, Fla.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. William Walter
Sharpe, former Detroiters, now
of 5801 N. Bay Rd., Miami
Beach. Mr. Hubar is the son of
Mrs. David Hubar, of Hunting.

Hubar. Dr. Joseph Narot, of
Temple Israel. Miami, per-
formed the double - ring cer-
emony.
The new Mrs. Hubar chose a
street-length gown of white
satin, which was styled with a
fitted bodice, bouffant skirt
with fitted bolero jacket, three-
quarter sleeves and a stand-up
collar which extended into a
bow at the front of the neck.
Her three-tiered veil of French
illusion fell to her shoulders
from a white satin bow head-
band. She carried white orchids.
stephanotis and lily-of-the-valley
on her confirmation Bible.
Iris Beth Sharpe attended her
sister as maid of honor, while
Alan Hubar was his brother's
best man.
The bride attended the Uni-
versity of Miami, where she was
a member of Lead and Ink,
honorary journalism s o c i e t y.
Mr. Hubar is a graduate of the
University of Michigan, and is
affiliated with Phi Sigma Delta
fraternity.
Following a luncheon and re-
ception at the Fontainebleau,
the couple honeymooned in
Jamaica. On their return, they
will reside in Detroit.

SILVER - NEAVE. A Feb. 3
marriage is planned by Marga-
ret Neave. daughter of the Rob-
ert W. Neaves, of Brentford,
England, and Simon Silver, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Paul W. Silver,
of Detroit. The pair will speak
their vows in the chapel at the
Massachusetts Institute of Tech-
nology.
The bride-elect is a school
teacher in Bermuda. Mr. Silver-
man, now doing graduate work
in biology at MIT, holds a de-
gree from the University of
Michigan.
The couple will visit in De-
troit during the coming summer
vacation.
`Gay '90's' Returns
at Beth El Dance
Temple Beth El Young Adult
Group is presenting a "Gay
Nineties Night" at 8 p.m., Sun-
day, at the Temple. Dancing
will be to the music of Johnny
Titus.
A "Gay Nineties Revue," fea-
turing Sheldon Fishman, Don
Simon, Rita Kurlandsky, Doro-
thy Brown, Jeanann Cohne, Sue
Gruskoff, Marion Gunsberg and
others will be presented as a
floor show. Non-members are
invited.

Oscar Cohen, national pro-
gram director of the Bnai Brith
Anti-Defamation League, will
be in Michigan next week for a
number of appearances, it was
announced by Mrs. Samuel S.
Aaron, chairman of ADL's Mich-
igan Regional Advisory Board.
Cohen will address an ADL
board meeting Sunday, at the
University of Michigan Hillel
Foundation, in Ann Arbor.
The following day, he will
speak to Detroit and suburban
Jewish leaders on various
aspects of community relations,
both nationally and locally.
Cohen. who has been with
ADL for 10 years, was pre-
viously executive director of the
Detroit Jewish Community

Mrs. Aaron also announced
sponsorship by the organization
of a six-week workshop, in con-
junction with the Oak Park De-
partment of Public Safety, on
"Community Relations and the
Police." It deals with the role
of the peace officer in inter-
group relations, tensions and
problems.
Presented at the request of
Glenford Leonard, director of
Public Safety in Oak Park, the
workshop also includes public
safety officers from Huntington
Woods, Hazel Park and other
outlying communities.
A state meeting of the Mich-
igan Branch, National Women's
League of the United Synagogue
of America, will take place from
11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, at
Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
Mrs. Joseph M. Markel, pres-
ident, announces that the theme,
"In Thy Light Do We See
Light," will he a report on ac-
tivities at the recent biennial
convention in Miami Beach. All
delegates to the parley will par-
ticipate in the day's program.
