Marriages
JAFFE - JACOBSON. In an
afternoon ceremony June 1,
Marilyn Jacobson, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jacobson,
of Maplewood, N. J., was united
in marirage to Byron Alvin
Jaffe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed-
ward Jaffe, of Tyler Ave., De-
troit. After a tour of New Eng-
land, the couple will reside in
Maplewood.

TATELBAUM-RING. In a
ceremony June 1, at the home
of the bride's brother and sis-
ter-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney
Ring, of Pennington Dr., Elsie
Ring became the bride of Ar-
thur Tatelbaum.; Miss Ring is
the daughter of Mrs. Mollie
Ring, of Kentucky Ave., and
I the late Mr. Isadore Ring. Mr.
Tatelbaum's parents are the
Sam Tatelbaums, of Flushing,
Queens, N.Y.
Mrs. Paul Greenfield, the
bride's sister, was matron of
honor, and Mrs. Norman Mar-
kel, the bridegroom's sister
from Chicago, participated in
the ceremony. A cousin of the
bridegroom, Allen Rosenfeld,
was best man. Out-of-town
I guests were here from Chica-
go and London, Ont. The
newlyweds are now residing on
W. Grand Ave.
Marriage vows were ex-
changed by Beverly Dicken and
Edward M. Kann in a ceremony
June 11, at Adas Shalom Syna-
gogue. Rabbi Jacob E. Segal
officiated. Parents of the couple
are Mr. and Mrs. Saul Dicken
and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Kann.
The bride's gown was of floor-
length white organdy over white
silk taffeta, and was styled with
short sleeves, a fitted basque
bodice and an open neckline
of embroidered organdy.
The bouffant skirt fell into
a chapel train. Her tiny, fitted
cap of rose Pointe Chantilly lace
held in place a fingertip veil
of illusion.
Mrs. Jerome V a r o n, the
bride's sister, was matron of
honor, and serving as brides-
maids were Marlene Frumin,
Lois Fried and Cynthia Shore,
the bride's cousin from Colum-
bus, 0.
Edward Schreiber was his
brother-in-law's best man, while
ushers were Stanford Singer,
Donald Tonkin, Richard
Schwartz and Allan and Burl
Dicken, brothers of the bride.
Following a reception in the
synagogue social hall, the new-
lyweds left for a honeymoon in
Florida. Out-of-town guests here
for the ceremony were from Co-
lumbus, Toted o, Pittsburgh,
Philadelphia, Glencoe, Ill. and
Bay City.
The leadership of the organ-
ized Jewish religious community
recently re-elected Rabbi THE-
ODORE L. ADAMS, of New
York, president of the Syna-
gogue Council of America.
Milton Firestone, an attorney,
has been elected president of
the Young 1Vlarrieds Group of
Temple Israel, succeeding Fred
Marrich in office.
Firestone will be assisted by
Bernard Goodman and Mrs.
Jerome Ross, vice-presidents;
Mrs. Stanley Millman and Mrs.
Bruce Danto, secretaries; and
Norman Ross, treasurer.
Elected to two-year terms on
the board of directors are
Messrs. and Mesdames Donald
Schiff, Michael Schuman, Al
Raskin, Wallace Tonkin and
Morris Bargman.
One-year terms will be served
by the Newton Arnolds, Max
Markzons, Paul Kayes, Ben Mag-
ders, Jack Pecheniks and Sey-
mour Okuns.
Summer plans of the organiz-

A summer workshop in mod-
ern dance for girls 9 to 16 will
begin this Monday, under the
direction of Peggy Barnett, a
native Detroiter who has com-
pleted a year of study at Juilli-
ard School of Music in New
York, which she attended as a
scholarship winner.
While there, Miss Barnett
worked under Jose Limon,
Martha Graham, Louis Horst
and took ballet from Anthony
Tudor and Alfredo Corvino.
Previously she had won a
cooperative scholarship at Con-
necticut College of Dance, and
studied at Wayne State Uni-
versity with the Dance Work-
shop and Olga Fricker School
of Dance. While at Wayne
State, Miss Barnett taught bal-
let for a local studio and was
a modern dance instructress at
the YWCA.
Classes will be held at the
Huntington Woods Dance
School, 10495 W. 11 Mile, two
hours a day, four days a week.
The course will include dance
techniques, improvisation and
composition. Interested teen-
agers may contact Miss Bar-
nett, at LI 7-2277.
