Planning Theater Party
Bnai David Men's Club and
Sisterhood will sponsor a thea-
ter night on March 18, at the
Palmer Park Theater to raise
funds for its Boys' Club and
other youth activities.
The film, "Khamishia, Five
Tales from Israel," will be
shown at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m.
The movie, in English, was pro-
duced in Herzlia, and features
a cast of Israeli performers, in-
eluding Sharona Aron.

Sa'ad Gives $1,400 to WSU
Sa'ad (Hebrew word mean-
ing "To Give") an organization
eomposed of 30 members,
turned over a rather hefty
check for $1,400 to the Wayne
State University College of
Medicine to be used for re-
search on nervous disorders.
During the last five years the
organization has given more
than $6,000 to the medical
school.
The annual Brotherhood
meeting of PISGAH CHAPTER
is planned for Wednesday, at
Holiday Manor, when a panel
will discuss "Brotherhood by
Means of ,Government, Law En-
forcement and Publicity for the
Common Good of Mankind."
Panelists will include Mrs.
Beulah Whitby, assistant di-
rector, Detroit Commission on
Human Relations; Shelby New-
house, WWJ-TV staffman; Rev.
Frank Gentile, Northwest Uni-
tarian Universalist C h u r c h,
moderator. Dessert luncheon
will be served at 12:30 p.m.
Members of Rev. Gentile's con-
gregation will be special guests.

Israeli Leader
to Aid Women's
'58 Bond Drive
Miss Judith Herrmann, for-
mer captain in the British Army
and lieutenant in the Israeli
Navy, arrived in Detroit on the
first leg of a nation-wide tour
in behalf of the Israel Bond
campaign. As a public relations
officer of the State of Israel,
she will assist the Detroit Wo-
men's Division for Israel Bonds
in launching their 1958 drive.
To stimulate activity in the
Israel Bond drive, the women
are encouraged to enroll in the
National Sponsors with a pur-
chase of $1,000 or more, or to
join the Chen with the sale
of $2,500 or more in Israel
Bonds. Any woman becoming
a National Sponsor in 1958 will
be invited to the "Operalogue-
Luncheon," Feb. 20, 12:30 p.m.,
in the home of Mrs. Henry
Turkel, 2760 W. 7-Mile Road.
The "Operalogue" will fea-
ture well-known opera stars in
Carol Longone's presentation of
Bizet's "Carmen." Mrs. Turkel
will serve as hostess at the
luncheon, at which time the
1958 Sponsors will receive their
10th anniversary pins.

Chest. She toured Israel in 1956

women's leadership delegation.

and James Cosenza in scenes
from Bizet's "Carmen." Direc-
