Just horsing around? Maybe, you'd think so, but to these
women of the Youth Education League it's serious business
rehearsing for a musical comedy, which coincidentally bears
the name, "Just Horsing Around." Shown here are, left to right,
Mesdames IRWIN BUCHALTER, LEONARD BANOVITZ,
ABEL SELBURN and CARL GUSSIN.

BB Young Adults
to Aid Child
Through the joint efforts of
the Joseph E. Pulitzer Chapter
of Bnai Brith Young Men and
the Fanny Brice Chapter of
Bnai Brith Young Women, a
needy Jewish child in West
Germany will be supported
during the coining year.
Through the Foster Parents'
Plan, Inc., the two Detroit
groups have been assigned the
youngster to support through a
contribution of $180 for the
year's minimum time.
Under the FPP, the groups
will send $15 a month, with
$9 being given in cash and the
remainder in clothing and in-
cidental expenses.
Funds will be raised for the
project both through the as-
sessment of additional dues
and through fund-raising af-
fairs. Although the Pulitzer
and Brice Chapters do not yet
know the identity of the young-
ster they will support, they will
receive regular letters later
informing them of his progress.
The FPP, organized in 1937,
has aided in the rehabilitation
of 76,000 youngsters of 27 dif-
ferent nationalities through the
help of 600,000 foster parents.
At present, over 11,500 chil-
dren are being assisted.
Mark Klinger is president of
Pulitzer Chapter, while Terry
Bernstein is president of the
Brice Chapter.

to Hear Book Review
Since last October, a group
of 25 women from the Youth
Education League began re-
hearsals for a musical comedy
called "Just Horsing Around."
Now, under the direction of
well-known professional Stuart
Piggins the play is ready for
presentation, and will be given
at 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, at
Masonic Temple.
The show will culminate ef-
forts of the group to raise $12,-
500, the goal set to meet ex-

many children with everything
from clothing to scholarships.
Twenty-five years ago, when
the organization was founded
by only a few women, its orig-
inal purpose was to provide
books, school lunches and car-
fare for children of indigent
Utmilies.
Now, with a membership of
nearly 300 women, YEL's pro-
gram has expanded to give as-
sistance in a great many areas.
Its members raise funds for
clothing and shoes, tuition for
special schools dealing with
problem children, mentally re-
tarded youngsters and those af-
flicted with cerebral palsy.
Money is provided for school-
ing, summer school tuitions,
camp clothing and shoes for
children attending Fresh Air
Camp, scholarships to worthy
young men and women, trans-
portation to school for crippled
children, and the group partic-
ipates in all community drives.
Mrs. Milton 'Hubert, presi-
dent of the organization, states
that among the projects sup-
ported are Haven Home for Re-
tarded Children, Cerebral Palsy
Home and individual cases re-
ferred to it by social service
agencies.
Participants in "Just Horsing
Around" include Mrs. Robert
Lewiston, program chairman;
and Mrs. Jerry Mosher, assistant
director who worked with Pig-
gins in writing the original
script. Jean Bortz is doing the
choreography.
Assisting the president in
carrying out the project are her
officers, Mesdames Joseph
Sklar, William Hubert, Lewis
Manning and Avery Tucker,
vice-presidents; Nathan Bonin-
stein, Gilbert Mark and Jack
Munson, secretaries; Reuben
Mend el s s o hn, treasurer;
Leonard Shapiro, fund chair-
man, and Donald Golden, public
relations.
Branch Two, Labor Zionist
Organization, will meet Satur-
day evening, in the home of Mr.
and Mrs. H. Pevos, 25320 Hen-
