Set March Date

Rarely has there been a more
appreciative and enthusiastic
audience than the one atAend-
ing last Tuesday's concert at
the Davison branCh of the Jew-
ish Community Center.
The audience had good cause
to be excited. The Center Sym-
phony was excellent and very
melodic under the spirited con-
ducting of Julius Chajes.
Guest performers of the eve-
ning were tenor Anthony Mar-
lowe and soprano Marguerite
Kozenn. Marlowe got off to a
slow start in his first selection
btit picked up to give a very
pleasant rendition of Puccini
with arias and duets selected
from Madam Butterfly and La
Boheme. Both Miss Kozenn and
Mai- lowe were brought back for
three curtain calls and an
encore after their duet "0
Soave Fanciulla."
The orchestra was especially
good in their playing of the
ever - popular and immensely
vibrant "Overture to .the Bar
ber of Seville."
The next concert is scheduled
for Feb. 25. Mischa Mischakoff
will be soloist-in Mendelssohn's
Violin Concerto. Tickets are
available from Center offices.
