from Inyup Palk, lieutenant
general of the Republic of
Korea's Army, Capt. Burnstine
was recognized as "exerting
himself to the utmost to build
up the Korean army, evidence
of" his "strong dedication to
the cause of free nations."
"The eminently meritorious
and distinguished service ren-
dered" by Capt. Burnstine "re-
flects great credit upon" him
"and the U.S. Army Advisory
Group in Korea," the letter
read.

behalf of the National Jewish
Welfare Board by Samuel
Rubiner.
Sidney J. Allen spoke in be-
half of the Federation's capital
needs committee which has
been gathering funds for the
Center building program. Mil-
ford Pregerson represented the
Jewish Family and Children's
Service.
Irwin Shaw, as executive di-
rector of the Centers, presented
a shovel, with which to begin
the groundbreaking, to the
chairman of the building com-
mittee, Samuel Frankel.

Golden Chain to Award Charter to Local Link

National officers of the
Order of the Golden Chain will
arrive this weekend in Detroit
to participate in the presenta-
tion of a charter to the newly-
organized Detroit Link, the
first of that order functioning
west of the Allegheny Moun-
tains.
Leading the national delega-
tion will be Annette Goldberg,
most worthy grand matron, and
Dr. Joseph Winnegar, most
worthy grand patron.
A banquet honoring the na-
tional leaders and their retinue
will be held at 6:45 p.m., Mon-
day, at Rainbow Terrace, after
which the constitution and
charter presentations will take

Set Dec. 15 Paper Drive

Boy Scout Troop 537 of the
Beth Aaron Synagogue is plan-
ning a paper drive from 10 a.m.
to 12 noon, Dec. 15. The area
covered will be from Wyoming
to Cherrylawn, between Six and
Seven Mile Rds. People in this
area are urged to save paper,
magazines, rags and cardboard
for pick-up.
According to Jack Seskin,
Scoutmaster, boys will be re-
viewed for the Court of Honor
on Dec: 26, in preparation for
their presentation at the Court
of Honor planned for Jan. 14.
Assisting Seskin are two new-
ly-named assistant scoutmasters.
They are David Steen and Dr.
Abraham Beresh. The new re-
cording secretary is Dr. Harry
Tanner.

UAW to Devote
Telescope Program
to the Jewish Faith

The UAW announces that its
next three Sunday Telescope
programs will be devoted to
broadcasts by the three major
religious denominations. Next
Sunday's program is being as-
signed to Judaism; the Dec. 15
program to Catholicism and the
Dec. 22 program to the Pro-
testants.
The Jewish program, this
Sunday, to be broadcast begin-
ning at 5:30 p.m. on CKLM-TV
(Channel 9), will feature a
script written by Joseph Edel-
man, director of the Jewish
Community Council's culture
division, under the title "The
Words Will Not Burn." Special
costuming and lighting is being
planned for this program.
The cast will include Harry
Goldstein, Stuart Stahl, Don
Irwin, Mr s. Harold Koe-
nigsberg, Mrs. Philip Frank,
David Rosin, Jane Koenigsberg,
Gloria Burns, Connie and Rich-
ard Jacobs, Elliot and Sarah
Frank.
