daughter, Rosalie Ann, to Allen

A September wedding is being
planned.

Music Study Club
to Hold Annual Soiree

The "Annual Soiree" of the
Detroit Music Study Club will
be held at 8:15 p.m., Tuesday,
in the Detroit Institute of Musi-
cal Arts, 5330 John R. at Kirby,
according to announcement by
Mrs. Sidney H. Jackson, pres-
ident.
At the event, the club's choral
group will perform a cantata,
"Israel Reborn" by A. W. Bind-
er, directed by Dan Frohman
and accompanied by Mrs. I.
Mendelsohn. Joyce and Joanne
Weintraub, duo-pianists, will
play "Variations on a Theme of
Beethoven" by Saint-Saens.
"A Fantasie_on Russian Folk
Songs" by S. R. Jaines, and
"By the Beautiful Blue Danube"
by Strauss-Spicker are also on
the program.
The program will be high-
lighted by the appearance of Dr.
Marcel Prawy, U.S. cultural
representative in Vienna and
executive producer of the Vien-
na 'Volks Opera Company, now
touring in this country.

,Ranch Party, -Forum
on Socialites' Slate

Detroit Socialites will corn-
bine a hayride, wiener roast
and. barn dance on Sunday eve-
ning at Friendly Acres Ranch
in Livonia, according to Rose
-Altman, secretary. Members and
guests will drive to the ranch
at 6 p.m. by motorcade from
the Avalon parking lot.
On Wednesday evening the
organization will sponsor a
forum, conducted by Robert C.
Kohler, assistant director of
Bnai Brith's Anti-Defamation
League. A kinescope of the TV
production, "We Hold -These
Truths," which was awarded
the ADL's first prize as the
best original play of its cate-
gory in 1956, will be shown.
The social hour following will
include dancing and refresh-
ments. The public is invited.

Shaarey Zedek Young Peoples

Latin America under the aus-

Open for Membership

Cub Scout Pack 537, -which
meets at Beth Aaron Syna-
gogue has opening for member-
ship, according to announce-
ment by Samuel S. Scharg, cub
master. The pack includes boys
aged 8 to 10.
The scouts recently presented
skits on their "Theme of • the
Month—," "Swiss Family Rob-
inson." Outstanding presenta-
tion according to assistant cub
masters, Nathan Soberman,
Charles A n c h 1- 1 1 and Milton
Stearn, was given by the "Nai-
robe Trio," composed of Rich-
ard Silberman, Michael Sher-
man and Robert Schore.
During the evening, under
auspices of Den 2, the follow-
ing pack committee members
were introduced:
Stanley Altman, chairman;
Irving Stoller, awards; Albert
Lee, treasurer; Louis Stoller,
parent training; Nathan Cohen,
secretary; Sol Docks, publicity;
and Stearn, adviser. Others
were David Goldsmith, interna-
,tionar representative; Mesdames
Emanuel Schwartz; Cohen and
Arthur Urbach, pack mothers;
and Mesdames Anchill, Altman,
