Central
High School
As the much welcomed spring
vacation has ended and `Lites
throng back to school, a busy
week is in store.
"Swing your partner round
and round!" • This will be one
of the familiar cries heard at
the `,:Barn Bounce", the 12B-
12A square dance presented to-
night in Central's gym. "All
seniors are welcome to attend
the affair"; commented Suzie
Leipsitz and Jerry Goldberg,
chairmen of the social commit-
tee.
What would you do. if you
had two dates • to your senior
prom, one with a vivacious
movie star and one with your
best. date? This is the problem
`Lites will try to solve in "Best
Foot Forward," the senior play
to be presented by the June
graduating class, May 16 and
17 in Central's auditorium.
As graduation plans are in
full swing, Class Day speak-
ers were chosen. Susie Leip-
sitz and Joanne Shook will re-
cite the class poem; Mike . Ka-
han will present the traditional.
class spade to the 12B president;
Barbara Hershey and Chuck
Blotner narrate the class proph-
ecy and Rossalind Venable will
offer the class gift to the school.
Many 'Lites joined with other
Michigan high sohool juniors
and seniors at the 15th annual
"University Day" at the Uni-
versity of Michigan. They were
given a preview of campus life
at a program which included a
mock lecture, tour of the cam-
pus, and open houses at the
various colleges.
Among those attending were
Arnie Serlin, Danny Malamud,
Allan TUshman, Beverly Sch-
wartz, Ira Jaffe, Richard Le-
vine, Ronnie Greenberg, Judy
Mier, - Renee Schift, Phyllis
Hollander, Suzie Leipsitz, Reva
Bratt, and Joyce Sperling.
Seen in Florida during the
Spring Vacation were Lites,
Jerry Maltzman, Dave Katz and
Diane Bernstein.
