The Proposed Leo M. Spector Memorial Clinic in Israel

Daniel Haron has been named
president of a special committee
established by the scrap indus-
try of Detroit to erect a memo-
rial clinic in. Israel honoring the
late Leo M. ,Spector.
•The clinic, to be constructed
by Kupat Holim, Israeli medi-
cal institution, will be located
at Pardess Chana, a settlement
between Haifa and Tel Aviv.

raised by the Detroit scrap
trade in memory of Mr. Spector.
Assisting Haron on the com-
mittee will be: Jack Weiner , and
Abe Weintraub, vice-presidents;
Harry Faternick, treasurer; and
Harry H. Anbender, secretary.
Trustees include. Jack Abrams,
Ben Bailes, Morry Chandler,
Don Davidson, Irving Feldman,
Sam Fis, Laible Hoffmitz, Phil
Minkin, Lou Rogovein, Moe Sa-
slove, Samuel Schwartzberg,
Samuel Wasserman and Max
Weiner. -

livered by Moshe Haar, princi-
pal of the Sholem Aleichem
School, who revealed that the
new building will contain six
classrooms, a library, and ,au-.
ditorium.
At 12:30 p.m:, Saturday, the
SA Women's Division, will hold
a luncheon and lecture at the
center, 18495 Wyoming. Genia
Silkes, leader in the Warsaw
Ghetto uprising, will speak on
"The Role of the Jewish Wo-
man in Jewish History". .
A leader of_ the underground
Jewish schools in Poland, Mrs.
Silkes lived in Israel and
France and now makes her
home in New York. Her mem-
oirs are currently appearing in.
the "Tog-Morning Journal".

Chapter 2 of the Institute will
sponsor its annual Spring Dance
on May 11 at the Wyoming
center. Music will be provided
by Dick Stein and his orchestra.
Prizes will be given out, ac-
cording to Sam Forman, dance
committee chairman.

by Mrs. Rose Levine, decora-
tions chairman; Mrs. Betty
Shulman, refreshments chair-
man; and -Ray Raphael, tickets
