Aesculapian Pharmaceutical Association, models a dress she
made herself for the annual barn dance of the Association and
its Ladies Auxiliary. Watching are Mrs. MORRIS AVERBUCH,
a co-chairman with Mrs. Bernard Breyer (not shown), and
-Mrs. NATHAN SCHWARTZ, Auxiliary president. The barn
dance, to be held Wednesday, at Rainbow Terrace,-will feature
Jim Schultheis as caller. Entire proceeds will go to the Chil-
dren's Leukemia Foundation. The Aesculapians recently pre-
sented a check for $6,000 to the American Friends of the
Hebrew University in Jerusalem as part payment of a $25,000
pledge to establish a school of pharmacy at the university.

An unusual experience for
the parents of - Bagley School
children will culminate a year's
photographic project carried on
by the principal of the school,
Agnes Renton.
Throughout the school year
Miss Renton has been visiting
classrooms with her camera, re-
cording on film the • school ac-
tivities of the students at work
and play, their extra-curricular
pursuits and special events in
which they took part. The col-
ored slidei that are the result
of her efforts will be shown at
the next Bagley PTA meeting,
8 p.m., Wednesday.
PTA president Mrs. Raymond
Rismann and vice-president in
charge of programming, Mrs. J.
Stewart Linden, had urged at a
summer planning meeting that
the organization convey to par-
ents more about their children's
accomplishments in school. Miss
Renton volunteered her, services
and the project was begun in
the fall.
The evening's program will
include election and installation
of officers for the coming year.
Mrs. David. • Steen, hospitality
chairman, and her • committee
will act as hostesses at the cot"-
fee hour to follow the meeting.
Antique Show to Run
Four Days at Masonic
Many items of historical value
will be on display when the
Great Lakes Antique Show
opens in the Fountain Room of
Masonic Temple, on Saturday,
for four days. Hours are • 12
noon to 10:30 - p. m.
Many of the picturesque
items depict the early history
of the United States, and give
an insight as to how early
Americans lived. In this mod-
em day, it is interesting to
note that many of our so-called
"new ideas" were in use 200
years ago.
The show includes everything
from jewelry, china and fire-
arms, to maps, coins, stamps
and dolls. The 55 exhibitors,
many . of whom are nationally
known dealers, come from all
parts of the United States.
Sisterhood to Honor
State Mother-of-Year
Mrs. Irving Miller, recently
chosen Michigan's "Mother of
the Year," will be honored at
the annual election and instal-
lation meeting of Cong. Shaarey
Zedek Sisterhood. The meeting
will take place at 12 noon, Mon-
day, in the synagogue social
hall.
Dignitaries from the state and
city governments and represen-
_tatives of numerous civic or-
ganizations will be present at
the event, according to Mrs.
Baer Keidan, Sisterhood presi-
dent.
Reservations for luncheon at
the meeting must be made by
today, advises Mrs. George C.
Parzen, program chairman.

Van Dyke Coach
Wins Cage Tourney
Jerome Wetsman, of Van
Dyke, Mich., was sponsor and
coach of a basketball team
which recently won the State
Open Tournament at Flint,
Mich. --
Wetsman, who coached the
Pfc. Joseph Bale Post of the
Jewish War Veterans to the city
title in 1948, is the only spon-
sor to have three winners in
the 13-year history of the Flint
tourney.
His team, composed of several
ex-Wayne State University cag-
ers, including John Kline, Ernest
Wagner and Paul Dean, beat the
Kalamazoo Comets, 8'7-56 to win
the title. The team won five
straight games in order to win
one-game elimination honors.
_ Wetsman also was coach this
year of a Class D team in the
Detroit Recreation League for
boys of 17 and under.
Socialites to Sponsor
Cabaret Night Program
Detroit Socialites will present
a Cabaret Night, open to the
public, this Sunday evening, at
Beth Abraham Synagogue.
"Carnival Capers," featuring
Ruthanne Justice and a variety
troupe which includes Don
