of Vt. Jewish Fraternity

BURLINGTON, Vt., (JTA)—
William Pickens III, a ' Negro,
has been elected head of the
University of Vermont chapter
of Tau Epsilon Phi, national
Jewish fraternity. Mr. Pickens,
an honor student and popular
student leader, was the first
Negro ever • pledged by the fra-
ternity.
Tau Epsilon Phi, the largest
fraternity on the University . of
Vermont campus, although a
Jewish fraternity, has opened
its membership roll to students
of all faiths and has several
Christian members.
