MRS. S. M. FRIEDLANDER

A double-ring ceremony July
29 at Cong. Shaarey Zedek
served to unite in marriage
Joan Deborah Spevakow and
Selwyn Morgan Friedlander.
The bride is the daughter Mr.
and Mrs. Nathan Spevakow, of
20003 Renfrew. Mr. Friedland-
er is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Eli Friedlander, of Chicago, Ill.
Dr. A. M. Hershman and Rabbis
Milton Arm and Benjamin Gor-
relick officiated.
The bride's gown of Italian
silk dupioni was marked by a
princess line flowing into a
deep flounce a n d cascading
then into a sweeping chapel
train. The V-neckline was out-
lined in re-embroidered pointe
de Venice lace, sprinkled with
seed pearls and iridescent se-
quins.
The long sleeves of matching
material tapered to a point over
the wrist. She wore a cap of
matching pointe de Venice lace
trimmed in ivory satin and seed
pearls, from which fell a fin-
gertip veil of silk illusion.
Marcia Elizabeth Spevakow,
the bride's sister, was her maid
of honor, and bridesmaids were
Mrs. Harold Katz, Mrs. William
Galler, of Chicago, and Sue
Hyams.
Lawrence Alan Friedlander,
brother of the bridegroom, was
his best man, and ushers in-
cluded Ronald Simon, William
Galler and Norbert Rehaut, all
of Chicago.
The couple is planning to
take up residence in Skokie,

Open New Development
Of Luxury Homes
In Franklin Hills Area

A development of luxury
homes, featuring four bedrooms
with either three or three and
a half baths, is currently being
offered in the Franklin Hills
area by Golf Lake Hills De-
velopment Co.
The subdivision, which bor-
ders on Franklin Hills Country
Club, is located between 13 and
14 Mile Rds., off Inkster Rd. A
model is open at 27441 Lake
Hills Dr., a half mile north of
13 Mile.
Principals in the Golf Lake
Hills project are Milton E.
Wolfe, a builder of custom
homes for over 25 years, and
Burton M. Seidon, who has
been in the real estate business,
for over 20 years, mostly in
the Northwest area.
Not including a 21/2-car
plastered garage, the home has
3,000 square feet of living area.
A large utility room is built
adjacent to the garage.
Typical of the luxury items
built into the home are living
and family rooms, built paral-
lel to each other with a. two-
way fireplace and hearth of
Italian marble built between
them. There also are built-ins
such as a cabinet for card
tables and chairs.
The all-electric kitchen has
built-in range, oven and dish-
washer; there is a full dining
room; and off the kitchen there
IS a spacious breakfast room.
Plans call for the immediate
development of 20 homes in the
initial project, with 40 more to
be opened k the north in the
near future. The homes will be
in the $50,000 to $60,000 range.

Plan Year's Program

Marriages

Nearly 30 women leaders in
the Detroit community met last
week at the Rackham Bldg. for
a "Get Acquainted Institute,"
for the Women's Division of the
Detroit Round Table of Chris-
tians and Jews.
The institute was called by
Mrs. C. P. Lundy, general chair-
man. Mrs. Robert Coggan is
co-chairman, and Mrs. Irving
Small is treasurer.
Active in planning meetings
of the Women's Division are
Mesdames Samuel B. Danto,
program chairman; and Nathan
Shafkind, project fund chair-
man.
Plans for the year include a
meeting on "Community Trends
in Human Relations," a Junior
Round Table "Do-It-Yourself"
brotherhood program, a celeb-
rity luncheon, series of tours
and teas and expanded activi-
ties for membership and audio-
visual equipment use

In a double-ring ceremony the
afternoon of July 29, at Knights
of Pythias Hall, Helene Marsha
Seeman, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Abraham Seeman, of Tyler
Ave., was united in marriage to
Alvin Abraham Beltzman, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Beltz-
man, of Clements Ave. Rabbi
Jacob E. Segal-officiated.
The bride wore a floor-length
gown of lace and tulle, with a
Peter Pan ' collar of lace. Her
veil was of tulle with a head-
piece of lace and seed pearls.
She carried white orchids on a
mother-of-pearl Bible. •
Edith Seeman was her sister's
maid of honor, and bridesmaids
were Gloria Seeman, another
sister, and Rosalie and Idele
Beltzman, sisters of the bride-
groom.
Allan Roth was his cousin's
best man, and ushers included
Robert Rosman, the bride's
cousin; and Marshall Berman,
his cousin.
After dinner and a reception,
the young couple left by air for
a honeymoon in New York City.
When they return, they will
take up residence on Coiling-
wood Ave.

Story," which tells the dra
matic story of the jazz band
leader's career and the subse-
quent tragedy which befell nis
daughter. Danny Kaye, back

through Europe and Israel, will
play the lead, with Sylvia Fine,
who is Mrs. Kaye in private
