To Address Labor Zionist
Marie Syrkin, noted author
and educator, will address an
open meeting of the Labor ,
Zionist Organization of Detroit,
next Wednesday, 8:30 p.m., at
the Esther Berman Branch of
the United Hebrew Schools,
Schaefer at 7 Mile.
Miss Syrkin's latest book,
"Way of Valor," a biography of
Golda Meyerson, has just come
off the press. Autographed
copies of the book will be on
sale after the lecture, which
will be followed by a social
hour.
Miss Syrkin, who was born in
Switzerland and came to the
United States in early childhood,
was educated in the New York
public schools and is a graduate
of Cornell University. She vis-
ited Palestine for the third time
in 1945 to interview Jewish
survivors from Nazism and
heroes of the underground for
her chronicle of Jewish re-
sistance under the Nazis,
"Blessed Is the Match." In
1947, Miss Syrkin visited • the
DP camps in Germany to
