MISS JUDITH GOLDSMITH
Mr... and Mrs. • David I. Gold-
smith, of Chertylawn Ave., an-
nounce the engagement • of their
daughter, Judith Lois, to Jerry
Goldfaden, son of Mrs. Henry
Goldfaden and the late Mr. Gold-
faden.
Miss Goldsmith is a graduat-
ing senior in Wayne Univer-
sity's college of education. Her
fiance, also a. graduating senior,
attends Wayne's college of phar-
macy, and is affiliated with
Alpha Zeta Omega fraternity.
The couple plans to wed on
Jan. 29.

The bride-elect attended the
University of Michigan, and is
now studying at Wayne Univer-
sity. Mr. Goldman attends Walsh
Institute of Accountancy.
A September wedding is plan-

Mizrachi Schedules
Bar-Ilan Banquet
Mizrachi Organization of De-
troit this week announced that
a dedication banquet for Bar-
Ilan University in Israel will be
held at 6 p. m., Jan. 18, at the
Latin Quarter.
Although details of the ban-
quet have not as yet been an-
nounced, members and friends
have been urged to keep the
date open.

Bnai Moshe First Graders.
Dedicated to Jewish Learning
A spetiai - ceremony will mark
the "Dedication to Jewish Learn-.
ing" at a late Friday night 'ser-
vice at 8:15 p.m., Dec. 9, at
Cong. Bnai Moshe.
This is an annual event at
which the first grade students
are dedicated to Jewish learn --
ing. Students of the Dexter
school and Oak Park branch will
participate. Rabbi Moses Lehr-
man will greet them and preach
the Hanukah sermon. A social

but the BNAI BRITH VOCA-
TIONAL SERVICE BUREAU' is
in the publication business, it
was announced this week by
Mrs. Ellis Fisher, vocational serv-
ice chairman for the Greater De-
troit Women's Council. Each
year, the bureau issues results
of its research studies on occu-
pational adjustment. Purchases_
are made . by individuals, col-
leges, rehabilitation agencies, the
U. S. Government and numerous
other groups. Two of the most
popular of the many volumes
published are "How to Study"
by Dr. Mortis .Rubin, and "Col-
lege Guide for Jewish Youth."

faire, home for maladjusted chil-
dren in Cleveland. A candlelight-
ing ceremony will be included in
the program.
Bnai Brith Wraps
Holiday Packages

More than 20,000 Hanukah and
Christmas gifts are now being
wrapped by Bnai Brith men and
women for disabled veterans in
United States and Canadian hos-
pitals and for GI's at sea during
the coming holiday season.
Col. Elliott A. Niles of Boston,
national chairman of the service
committee for the armed forces
and veterans, announced that the
gifts purchased by local Bnai
Brith lodges and chapters must
be prepared immediately for de-
livery early in December.
About 15,000 gifts' will go to
patients in military 'and veterans
hospitals in this counrty and
Canada. Bnai Brith and other
community organizations in cities
adjacent to these hospitals, with
the assistance of hospital staffs
and American Red Cross field di-
rectors, will conduct parties in the
hospital wards during Hanukah,
Dec. 10 to 17, when the gifts will
be ,distributed.

Robert Syme in the Belcrest
Hotel, Marilyn Ruth Cohn, of
12700 - Lincoln, Highland Park,
became the bride of George A.
Warren.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Cohn, of
Syracuse, N. Y. Mr. Warren is
the son of .Mr. and Mrs. Oscar
Warren, of 2655 Leslie.
The new Mrs. Warren wore a
gown of white cotton lace over
taffeta, which was of ballerina-
length. Her lace Juliet cap
adorned with seed pearls held
in place an elbow-length veil.
She also wore pearls, a gift
from her husband, and carried
her confirmation Bible, atop of
which was a spray of white
camelias and lily of the valley.
Naomi Cohn, the bride's sister
and only attendant, -served as
maid of honor, while Albert Ziff,
brother-in-law of the bridegroom,
was best man. Ushers were Hy-
man Shapiro and Stephen P.
Ziff.
Following a reception, the
couple motored to-. Florida for-
their wedding trip. .

American Jewish Congress, be-
ginning with an open board
meeting at 10 a.m., Wednesday, in
the Esther Berman Bldg., Schae-
fer and 7 Mile Rd.
The afternoon session, -a Con-
gress leadership seminar, will be
conducted by Mrs. Betty Alder-
son, assistant executive director
of the National Women's Divi-
sion, and Sidney Stein, local ex
ecutive director of Congress.
According to Mrs. William
Burk, president, luncheon will
be served between the two ses-
sions. It will be highlighted by an
award program of the Louise
Waterman Wise Chapter. The
winner will receive a round trip
ticket to New YOrk, states Mrs.
Edward Rothenberg, chairman of
the award program.
