Every time Mr. and Mrs.
Joshua Joyrich celebrate an an-
niversary, the occasion always
brings to mind the Jewish Na-
tional Fund and trees for Israel.
For were it not for the JNF,
it is doubtful whether the cou-
ple would this week end be cele-
brating their silver wedding an-
versary.
For all practical purposes, the
story begins a little better than
25 years ago when a youthful
Joshua Joyrich was in Cleveland
on a business trip.
Having a little free time in the
evening, he stopped at a JNF
meeting to hear the noted Ortho-
dox leader, Gedaliah Bablick, ad-
dress a large gathering.
Responding to his appeal for
funds to buy dunams of land in
what was then Palestine was a
young woman, Sarah Haber. Joy-
rich was impressed with her zeal
and enthusiasm, and, although
unable to meet her that night, he
called her the next day for a
date.
Over 25 years later, both viv-
idly remember that JNF brought
them together. To celebrate the
occasion, the Joyriches will honor
Mrs. Joyrich's mother, Mrs. Es-
ther Haber, of Cleveland, with
an inscription in the Golden Book
of JNF in Jerusalem.
The couple will spend the
weekend in Cleveland where they
will be feted at a party in their
honor. At the same time, they
will present the JNF certificate-
to Mrs. Haber.
The couple . is active in JNF
through the Chaim Weizman So-
ciety, which gave a surprise
party for them earlier this week,
