The Jewish National Fund - of
Detroit again recommends the
planting of trees in Israel on
Father's Day, which occurs this
year on Sunday, June 19, accord-
ing to an announcement by the
Detroit JNF. Council. Certificates
for. trees planted at $1.50 each
can now be . ordered from the
JNF office, TO. 8-7384, or through
JNF tree chairmen of affiliated
organizations. '

Fathels Day trees can be
planted in the Williams-Hart
Forest of 50,000 trees which the
Jewish National Fund- will plant
in Israel, in honor of Governor
G. Mennen Williams - and Lt.
Governor Philip A. Hart, for
their efforts on behalf of Israel,
chiefly through- the Christian-
Palestine and the America-Is-
rael Committees.

Hirshhorn Gives $50,000
For Social Work Grants
Tree Planting Urged

Father's Day, June 19
NEW YORK, (JTA)—A gift of
$50,000 to the New York School
of Social Work at Columbia Uni-
versity to bring social workers
from "areas of substandard liv-
ing" to the United States for
specialized study has been made
by Joseph Hirshhorn, a uranium
mining executive. The stipends
of $5,000 each will provide tui-
tion, maintenance and travel ex-
penses for ten students for two
years.

appearance in Philadelphia. It
was the crowning literary effort
of the Rev. Isaac Leeser. His
translation was not superceded
in this country until the ,appear-
