has been identified with the
Karen Kayemeth (JNF) in
Canada since 1909. She w a s
elected vice-president of Can-
adian Hadassah when the or-
ganization was formed in 1921
and was national president of
Canadian Hadassah from 1941
to 1947, and has since then
been life honorary president of
the movement. She is chair-
man of the Canadian women's
Israel bond campaign.
Mrs. Ravin also announced the
final donor rally, at 12:30 next
Tuesday, at the Adas Shalom.

Swing Into Action
Several events are planned
this week by lodges comprising
the Greater Detroit Bnai Brith
Men's Council. On Sunday, Dr.
Lawrence I. Yaffa and Louis E.
Barden will speak at 12 noon,
over Weinberg's Jewish Hour on
Bnai Brith's Institutes on Juda-
ism.
Five Detroit athletes will be
honored at the annual Sports
Night held by Ivan S. Bloch
at 8:30 p.m., Monday, at Car-
penter's Hall, Puritan and Steel.

Five outstanding athletes in
the area as selected by various
local coaches and officials will
be awarded by Hank Wald,
Bloch president. Members and
their wives are invited to attend
the program, according to
Charles Blauer, chairman.
Pisgah Lodge will hold its an-
nual Sports Night at 8:30 p.m.,
Monday, also, at Parkside Hall,
3119 Fenkell. Members of the
Detroit Lions, Tigers and Red
Wings will be featured.
The event, co-sponsored by

league, will offer other sports
personalities, films and a social
hour. Members, their families
and friends are all welcome.
A square dance is being
planned by members of Louis
D. Brandeis Lodge for Jan. 23,
at Beth Aaron Synagogue. The
affair is free to members and
their wives if the member has
sold at least one book of tickets
in the Bnai Brith fund-raising
campaign, which will be cul-
