last Friday for Europe and the
Middle East to look into the trial
of the 12 Egyptian Jews charg -
ed with "espionage" for Israel,
and other trials' the American
Civil Liberties Union reported
Wednesday.
The ACLU stated that Mr.
Baldwin will study the Egyptian
case, trials of Arabs in Israel
on spy charges and other cases
in Europe involving espionage
charges in which it is alleged
that civil rights have been vio-
lated. Mr. Baldwin's mission is
one of study and observation.
He is expected to return next
month.
