To Jerome L. Schostak At GOP Celebration

In a double-ring
June 20, at Adas Shaloin Syna-
gogue; Arlene Frances Shulman,
daughter of Mr .and Mrs. Ru-
dolph Shulman, of Muirland
Ave., was united in marriage to
Jerome Leon Schostak, son of
Mr. and Ws. Louis H. Schostak,
of Greenlawn Ave.
The bride wore a gown of im-
ported, hand-clipped chantilly
lace, and featured an off-the-
shoulder yoke outlined with self-
lace appliques, a basque bodice
and long, fitted sleeves. Her
voluminous skirt, with scalloped
bottom, was accented by a dou-
ble net ruffle, which formed the
hemline and extended into a
sweeping train.
Her tiered veil of illusion was
of fingertip . length, and was
held in place by a matching
Juliet cap, studded with seed
pearls. She carried a Bible, cen-
tered with large white orchids
and a cascade of stephanotis.
Attending the bride as matron
of honor was Mrs. Dolores Gold-
stein, the bridegroom's sister.
Bridesmaids were Gloria Jaffe,
Joan Gelade, of Patterson, N. J.,
Arnette Weingarden and Mrs.
Earl Weingarden.
Earl Weingarden, the bride's
uncle, was best man, and ushers
included Paul Groffsky, of Ma-
plewood, N. J., Stewart Krakover,
of New Castle, Pa., Fred Yaffe,
of Brooklyn, N. Y., and Marvin
Siegel.
Following dinner and a recep-
tion, the couple left for a honey-
moon in Miami, Fla.
The Michigan Jewish com-
munity was represented by Zola.
Rosenfeld, a resident of Jack-
son, Mich., at the Freedom Fes-
tival, being held this week at
Jackson in celebration of the-
100th anniversary of- the Re-
publican Party.
The festival, • which began
July 4 with a- program dedi-
cated to religious freedom, in
which Rosenfeld participated,
will run through Saturday night.
Each night there will be a dif-
ferent 'performance on the basic
theme, "These Truths Are Self-
Evident."
. Speaking along with members
of all faiths at the opening pro-
gram at the Cascade, Rosenfeld's
statement highlighted th . , cur-
rent celebration of the Tercen-
tenary of Jewish colonization of
America. He also read the first
five verses of Chapter 4 from the
Prophet Micah in Hebrew and
-English.
The Freedom Festival is
double celebration, observing the
125th anniversary of the City of
Jackson and celebrating the cen-
tennial of the Republican Party-,
which held its first meeting
"under the Oaks" in Jackson, on
July 6, 1854.
Abraham Lincoln was one of
the interested participant in
that first convention, out of
which grew the anti-slavery
movement and the future Re-
publican Party.

Mrs. Leona Softness is the
