Recently attending the fifth annual seminar of Alpha Omega,
international dental fraternity at Scaroon Manor, Schroon Lake,
N.Y., were the following Detroit dentists: Drs. Robert Galin, Louis
Galin, national president, Fred A. Stein, Julian S. Rosenthal, Jerry
Morof, J.S. Lawson, George V. Leib, Al Kaplan, Gerald Friedman,
Gerald R. Aptekar, Ralph R. Weiss, P. M. Sherman and Edwin C.
Schneider.
Rabbi and Mrs. Moses Lehrman left July 7 aboard HMS Queen
Mary for a visit in Europe and Israel. Among their stops on the
Continent will be France, Italy, Switzerland and England. Persons
wishing to send messages to Rabbi Lehrman should contact Israel
Tourist Service, 11820 Dexter.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Finstein and Mrs. Stella Finstein, of Muir-
land Ave., will leave on Sunday for Paris. After four weeks there,
they will fly to Israel and spend four weeks with their family in
Bnai Brak. Before returning home, the Finsteins also plan to
stop at Zurich, Switzerland.
Mr. Hyman Kovitz, of Cortland Ave.,- will leave for Israel on
Sunday for his third consecutive summer trip to the Jewish state.
Returning home in August, he will meet his daughter, Dorothy
Kovitz, in England, where she is presently on a student tour.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis,.Reisig and children, of 17574 Sussex, were
among the recent guests at Scaroon Manor, on Schroon Lake, N. Y.
Mrs. Annie Handelman and children, Ethel and Jay, have
moved from Northlawn. Ave., to their new residence at 7.718 E.
Jefferson.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Heuer, of McQuade _Ave., recently enter-
tained their daughter, Temmie, with a sweet sixteen birthday
party at Oriental Gardens. Among Temmie's guests were Ethel
Swartz, Shirley Zeldes, Rosalyn Zeldes, Edith Axelrod, Paula Elias,
Rachelle Greenberg, Diane Gross, Carla Joseph, Deanna Jonas,
Clara Kahn, Rhoda Karbel, Phyllis Kolko, Phyllis Silver and
Sharon Velick.
Miss Penny Isaacs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Isaacs
of La Salle Blvd.,/left June 28 by plane from New York to Amster-
dam, Holland, where she will spend a few days. Then she will go
to Marseilles where she will board the S. S. Jerusalem to spend
the summer in Israel. On her return trip she will spend a week
in Paris.
Mrs. Arthur 'J. Hass and son, Daniel, of Stratheona Drive are
spending a month in Miami Beach, Fla.
Miss Nina Claire Katz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irving I.
Katz of Santa Rosa Drive, who. is a student at the University
of Michigan, is serving this summer as president of the Women's
League, center for all organized women's activities on the campus.
Her job includes serving as chairman of the League Council and
Women's Senate, when in session, and being ex-officio vice-
chairman of the board of governors. She also serves as a member
of the student affairs committee and is on the Ethel McCormick
Scholarship Committee.
Miss Janet Jackson, of Monica Ave., together with Miss Reva
Pastor and Mrs. Louis Pastor, of Clements Ave., spent the July
Fourth weekend in Cincinnati, 0.
Mr. Philip Vova, formerly of Detroit and now of Miami Beach,
Fla., is in town for the summer visiting his family and friends.

TROIT COUNCIL ON PEACE
EDUCATION. The group is sup-

purpose development of "a bet-
ter informed, more articulate
